Alternative to Adobe and Word: Convert PDF to Google Doc

Christopher Klee

PDFs offer a convenient way of exchanging information. The problem is that they cannot be edited or changed - unless you are the original creator. For this reason, collaborative teams often prefer to convert PDFs to Google Docs, as it allows them to work in documents simultaneously and in real time and also revise them easily, saving time and reducing unnecessary communication.

In this article, we will show you 3 methods for converting a PDF file into a Google document:

  • Google Drive
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Microsoft Word

We also present Konfuzio, a solution that automates the conversion process from PDF to Google Docs.

4 tips for optimal conversion from PDF to Google Doc

Keep in mind that converting PDFs to Google Docs may cause formatting issues. To perform a smooth conversion, follow the tips below:

  1. The PDF file should not be larger than 2 MB and its content should be easy to read.
  2. The PDF file must be correctly aligned, i.e. it must not be rotated or angled. The data must also be easy to read and on the right-hand side.
  3. The text in the PDF file should be at least 10 pixels in size and use a simple font such as Arial or Times New Roman.
